General Announcements:

DND is hosting a STEM event for girls/young women interested in those careers at Willow Park on Oct 12.  The event will consist of speaker panels, guest speakers and booths related to those careers/functions in the military.  The event will take place from 10-2pm and transportation will be arranged.  Please see Ms. Stevens if you are interested.

SHOREPROV is a safe place for everyone to come and play theatre games at lunch, meet people and maybe represent the Shore at Nationals. First day is today at lunch in room 222.

Peer Health meeting Sept. 26th at lunch in the Youth Health Centre. Join us if you’re interested in health and wellness. A fun and interactive group that focuses on many issues such as mental health week, awareness and advocacy such as missing and murder Indigenous First Nation Women, Food Drive to support local food banks etc.

GSA Gender Sexuality Alliance meeting at lunch on Sept 27th. - an advocacy group focused on the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and many other human rights.

Westside Picnic in Grand Desert is CANCELLED this weekend due to weather. New date will be October 15-16th. See Mr Kent if you’d like to volunteer.

Band Announcements:

Jazz band tomorrow morning at 8am

Guitar class is starting on September 28th. It will take place in the band room after school and go until 4:15. Please visit the office for more information.

Athletic Announcements:

The ESDH boys soccer team began the season with a big road win over Armbrae Academy 6-2. Jackson Murphy led the attack with a hat trick while Alex Jeffries came in strong with two and Pierre Doucette rounded out the scoring. Come out and cheer on the boys Monday for their home opener against Cole Harbour

Girls volleyball team list is POSTED. There will be a practice this coming Monday after school
